Rocklin, California, in Placer county, is 3 miles NE of Roseville, California (center to center) and 20 miles NE of Sacramento, California. It's situated in the Sierra Foothills and is regarded as a residential community. Archaeological evidence suggests that the region's earliest human inhabitants arrived about 7000 years ago. Later, the Nisenan, also known as the Southern Maidu lived in the area and the first non-native settlements were established in the early 1850s. The Spring Valley Ranch was a vast acreage and one of the first developed sites in Rocklin. The city was incorporated in 1893. In 1910 the granite quarries were prominent factors for the economy.
